Air India, the national airline of India, is celebrating 46 successful years of service to the nation dubbed as Paradise on Earth,
On 21 February 2022, flight AI-267 that belonged to Air India was greeted with a water cannon salute to celebrate 46 years of air service between India and Maldives. This was when the flight landed at Velana International Airport (VIA).
When the Maldives reopened its borders in July 2021 to South Asian travelers after the pandemic slowed down in the nation, Air India resumed their operations. There are currently four direct flights that land in four different regions available to India from the Maldives; Trivandrum, Bangalore, Delhi, and Mumbai.
Air India, the premier flight carrier of India is one of the most extensive flight service provider in India. They started operations back in 1932 and is now a major international airline with a network across the USA, Canada, UK, Europe, Far-East, South-East Asia, Australia, and the Gulf.
Their first flight to the Male', Maldives was in February of 1976 from Trivandrum.
