Times that has recently passed were certainly not easy and it took a lot of strength to cope up with a change in lifestyle for everyone. While we were staying home, mother nature, however, thrived as she got a change to breath in a new light. This was good news for Reethi Faru Resort who’s core initiative is to incorporate sustainability into all its services and experiences offered on the island.
Holding strong to its commitment, senior leadership of the resort recently arranged an eco-drive that saw mega support from guests on the island. The projects “Adopt A Tree” and “Adopt a Coral” initially launched last year are focused on preservation, conservation and restoration of natural balance on both terrestrial and marine environments.
A special RFR symbol was created to plant corals as part of the reef restoration project of the resort. It is bound to be a token of the work being done in order to rehabilitate the island’s coral reef, a cause the resort is continuing since its development on the island. The aim of this is to diversify the marine life as more of the non-abundant corals are transplanted in to the reef, welcoming various species to call the reef their new home.
Going Green, “Adopt A Tree” program provides guests with an opportunity to leave their own footprint on the island by adopting a tree and planting it around the island. If you have visited a tropical island, you’ll know that there can never be enough greenery to add to the lushness of its skyline.
