A Joyous Easter Celebration At The Iconic JOALI Maldives

Saturday 18th of March 2023

To commemorate this year’s Easter weekend, the luxurious JOALI Maldives has unveiled its jampacked calendar of events running between 6th-12th April 2023. The week-long series of events promises a bucket-list celebration in the Indian Ocean with endless opportunities for adventure, creativity, exhilaration and indulgence on the dazzling ‘Island of Joy’.

Easter-themed Family Fun

This Easter, Muramas Kids Club brings a selection of Easter-inspired experiences for kids with parents equally entitled to join in the seasonal fun. Little guests on the island can get elbows deep in baking and decorating their very own bunny-shaped cinnamon rolls or dive into a myriad of Easter-themed games such as hop & pop, bunny run and of course, the epitome of Easter activities – The Island Egg Hunt!

Arts and crafts will form part of the lineup too including egg painting, making toy bunnies out of socks, Easter wreath making using Maldivian flowers and cotton wall bunny crafting. Face painting and bunny mask painting will also keep kids occupied and entertained throughout the season. Another compelling inclusion is personalized Easter egg treasure hunts for whole families to enjoy, making timeless memories in the process.

Culinary Creations

Crafting the perfect Easter holiday experience means that indulgent feasts will always be up on the table and JOALI Maldives brings a gastronomical affair this April. Culinary feasts will be hosted at Vandhoo, Bellini’s and Levant-inspired restaurant TUH’U while specially curated menus will feature at Saoke with Executive Chef Yamamoto. On Easter Sunday, a grand beachside brunch will delight guests followed by a sunset cocktail reception and evening feast for guests to lavish in.

Alongside these gustatory delights, guests staying at JOALI Maldives can also partake in sushi-making classes at Saoke, insightful Chef-led garden tours and salad-making sessions and evening mixology masterclasses. Children can also unlock their inner chef with a junior Teppanyaki experience at Saoke or opt for the ‘Little Chef’ cooking and juice mixology classes.

Art Workshops

Avid art enthusiasts can participate in private ceramic art classes at JOALI Maldives this Easter led by resident artist, Nataliya Kuleshova. Some of the innovative skills catered to in the class include ceramic painting, ceramic creation workshops and ceramic glazing. Guests can also let their minds wander on the interactive art trail. Peering at sculptures, paintings, tapestries and more, each art piece is curated in collaboration with local artisan and international artists and provides a message on sustainability, nature and community to guests.

Marine Life Magic

On this front, guests on the island can get their adrenaline rush with private speedboat trips and scuba diving experiences or jump aboard exhilarating sunset cruises, dolphin quests and big game fishing adventures. Likewise, excitement can be found closer to shore as well with a plethora of water sports options like glass-bottom kayaking, jet ski rides, paddleboarding, semi-submarine tours and sea-bob adventures setting the bar.

Conservationists can also join game-changing Marine Biologists on guided snorkelling tours or help plant coral fragments in the coral nursery or simply chill with an in-depth educational talk on ocean conservation, suitable for both adults and children alike.

Active Adventure

Adventure-seekers can find their calling in bespoke court facilities on the property where family or friends groups can enjoy heated games of tennis or padel or share the competitive spirit over a football championship cup. A visiting Kung Fu Black Belt champion, Master Sifu Aniket will also be available throughout the Easter period for guests to train in the arts of Kung Fu, martial arts and kickboxing on their holiday both privately and as a group.

Mindfulness and Wellbeing

Over at ESPA Spa, Easter celebrations will begin with an awakening yoga flow and family beach yoga sessions. Guests can also sign up for Yin Yoga which is practised at the spa’s picturesque overwater yoga pavilion. Connecting with yourself deeper, guests can end each day in a state of pure relaxation with crystal bowl meditation and Full Moon bonfire meditation sessions hosted at the spa’s scenic beach area.

Imagi-Nature Art Festival (14th-18th April 2023)

For guests wishing to extend their stay beyond the Easter weekend, JOALI Maldives will host the Imagi-Nature Art Festival in collaboration with International Art Consultant, Tatiana Gecmen-Waldek. This innovative project, which harmoniously blends art and messaging of sustainability, offers guests the opportunity to immerse themselves in unique creative collaborations with celebrated artists from around the world. With the festival taking place over World Art Day on the 15th April, Tatiana has collaborated with JOALI to bring an extraordinary selection of contemporary art to the resort, in the form of exhibitions, artistic performances, and the unveiling of brand-new permanent installations.
