On 6th June, Male` Water and Sewerage Company announced the installation and commissioning of a 500TPD Reverse Osmosis plant in Gulhifalhu to increase water production capacity. This follows the rise in demand for water resulting from the developments of Covid-19 isolation facilities in the island.
It has been informed by the company that the water supplied by MWSC undergoes regular testing for quality assurance. To ensure this, 4 staff from Quality Assurance Department is stationed at MWSC facilities since lockdown. These staff are instrumental in upholding MWSC’s commitment to provide safe and quality water service.
Further, 30 staff from Waste Water Network division have relentlessly been attending emergencies related to sewer network and are ensuring that storm water and sewer pumping stations in Male’ area function smoothly during the lockdown. “We thank these unsung heroes for their dedication & sacrifice,” said MWSC on Twitter.
For the safety customers and employees, MWSC has also commenced accepting payments via bank transfers. Commercial, Institutional and Domestic category customers who were previously paying bills via cheques can now make bank transfers in-order to avoid going out. Other customers are to transfer their payments, fill the form on the website and attach receipt.
