Abu Dhabi Adds Maldives to Its ‘Green List’!

The “Green List” which is regularly updated based on the international developments by the Department of Culture and Tourism in Abu Dhabi, lists the countries with a green pass for safe travels.

Maldives was added to this list with the most recent change that will be in effect from July 31st onwards. The travelers who are vaccinated and non-vaccinated will be spared from mandatory quarantine and will be required to take the PCR test upon arrival to Abu Dhabi International Airport. A further test will be carried out on day 6th for the vaccinated travelers and two further tests for the unvaccinated travelers on day 6th and day 12th.

As of July 29th, 603,815 tourists have arrived to Maldives this year. One of the main regions that tourists are from that has improved since the country opened, is the Middle East Region. Particularly the Saudi Arabian Market. There is a huge improvement from this market as pre-covid the region ranked 46th in the travel percent but has now climbed the travel ladder to rank 6th as per the latest statistics provided by the Tourism Ministry.
