Alila Kothaifaru Maldives has celebrated its third anniversary, marking a journey built on people, purpose, and the natural beauty of its island home. Since its opening on May 16, 2022, the resort has focused on delivering authentic, meaningful experiences—crafted with care and guided by a strong connection to nature.

This year’s anniversary was especially meaningful, with a tribute to the resort’s founding team members. These pre-opening colleagues make up 35% of the current workforce and have been with the resort since day one. Their dedication and passion have helped shape the resort’s culture and are key to the exceptional service guests have come to know.

The anniversary was celebrated during Alila’s monthly townhall, bringing the entire team together for an afternoon of gratitude and connection. A symbolic cake-cutting ceremony served as a simple but heartfelt moment to reflect on their shared journey.

As part of the celebration, the team extended the spirit of giving beyond the island. Resort volunteers joined Children’s Day festivities in R. Maduvvari, hosting activities like face painting, cookie colouring, and mini games. The event brought joy to local children and reflected the resort’s continued commitment to community engagement.
