An Artistic Tribute to Manta Rays at Grand Park Kodhipparu

Wednesday 24th of September 2025

The Grand Park Kodhipparu, Maldives celebrated World Manta Day 2025 with a programme of immersive experiences aimed at sensitising people to know more about manta rays and the increasing threats they are subjected to. Considering the pressure on these innocent creatures, whether through international trade or overfishing, plastic pollution, or even habitat loss, the global event gave the resort a chance to showcase why their conservation is important.

The customers were also welcomed to express their creativity in painting classes and imagine manta rays and their underwater world in glittering colours and glitter. This practical exercise made the beauty of the species a reality, and the survival of the species has become a discussion. In the beach, tourists created beautiful shapes of manta rays on the beach and turned the sand into a living art of sea inspiration.

In its continuing efforts to educate the public on the environment, Grand Park Kodhipparu also published a special video describing the feeding mechanisms, defensive mechanisms and reproductive behaviours of the manta rays. As an entertaining study tool, the motion picture highlights the necessity of scientific knowledge and civil movement in the survival of the oceanic life.
“Grand Park Kodhipparu, Maldives continues to offer experiences for guests to understand and advocate for the collective responsibility of ocean conservation,” said Citra Suriah, Marketing Director of the resort.

By weaving art, education and conservation into its guest experiences, Grand Park Kodhipparu strengthens its role as a platform for raising awareness of marine biodiversity while offering travellers a deeper connection to the Maldives’ unique underwater world.
