eDreams is one of Europe’s online travel agency brands. Their most recent survey reflecting an year of travel uncertainties by travellers and airlines alike, has revealed the world’s top airlines that are in the skies right now. In choosing a winner, the survey asked participants to evaluate their experience based on 4 categories:

- Efficiency in processing and communicating regarding Refunds

- Reliability of flights during July and December

- Customer rating based on overall experience and the value for money for the airline

- Upscale and high-tech safety measures on board

Using a unique 360° analysis of information from over 61,000 customer reviews, and data from 667 airlines, the airlines that have been proven to provide unparalleled customer service is Qatar Airways. This is a jump up from its position in second last year as a result of its remarkable efforts. Qatar Airways beat world renown airlines British Airways, Turkish Airlines, Etihad Airways, and Lufthansa, all flying to the Maldives, to top the chart.

Qatar Airways and British Airways took joint first place as the best airline for refunds. Admirably, both airlines processed all eligible refunds requested by passengers who booked with eDreams. Further, neither airline changed their usual refund process during the COVID-19 pandemic, and neither airline introduced additional steps to their refund validation process, as some airlines did at this time. Both airlines maintained fast refund approval rates throughout the year.

As a necessary step to reduce the risk of spreading COVID19, airline cancellations were unpredictable and unavoidable last year. However, as summer 2020 started, many airlines picked up their schedules and passengers were once again welcomed on board. Qatar Airways topped this chart too by allowing flexibility with their ticketing to customers, cancelling, changing dates, destination etc without any charge.

Qatar Airways took first-hand stringent measures across all its operations at light speed when it came to placing the safety of their customers first. Customers rated its additional protective measures among the top-3 in safety category and also as the second most customer-oriented airlines in the world.

Qatar Airways is currently flying 4 daily flights to the Maldives, connecting the world to this dreamy island destination in the middle of the Indian Ocean. It is also the carrier which most number of tourists choose to fly to the Maldives.
