Maldives Airport Company has requested travelers to be present at Velana International Airport 3 hours before departure due to peak hours.

Since this is winter season in Europe countries, there is a large number of tourist arrivals into Maldives, making the airport packed.

The Tourism Ministry of Maldives reveals that the country has reached 1.6 million tourist arrivals, according to December statistics. This included huge celebrities like Madonna and Gordon Ramsey.

There has been great changes to flight movements as well, with 239 runway movements during 3rd of January.
