Benjamin Moore: First Tourist of 2024 Embarks on Maldivian Adventure
The Maldives welcomed its first tourist of 2024, Benjamin Duncan Moore, in a celebratory event held at Velena International Airport. Benjamin, a British native, arrived on flight EY278 from Abu Dhabi and is set for a leisure holiday at Villa Nautica, marking his inaugural visit to the Maldives.
The Ministry of Tourism, along with representatives from MMPRC, Maldives Airports Company Limited (MACL), Maldives Immigration, Dhivehi Raajjeyge Gulhun Public Limited (Dhiraagu), and Crossroads Maldives, greeted Benjamin at the airport. Honourable Ibrahim Faisal, the Minister of Tourism, expressed enthusiasm for a thriving tourism year ahead.
Benjamin Moore received a complimentary holiday package from Crossroads Maldives, including stays at SAii Lagoon Maldives and Hard Rock Hotel Maldives. Special gifts from various entities, including the Ministry of Tourism, MMPRC, MACL, Maldives Immigration, and Dhiraagu, were also presented to commemorate the occasion.
In 2023, MMPRC executed 402 marketing campaigns, contributing to the Maldives securing the title of WTA’s ‘World’s Leading Destination’ for the fourth consecutive year. In 2024, the focus remains on strategic and data-driven marketing approaches, fostering sustainability, and amplifying outreach through strengthened social media presence and strategic campaigns. The Maldives aims to build on its success and continue to thrive in the global tourism arena.
