Bison Maldives – Celebrating 20 Years of Excellence

With the vision of bringing prosperity to future generations through creation of rich living spaces, Bison Maldives was founded on 24th October 2002. Initially incepted as a construction company, Bison Maldives have since then grown tremendously and now boasts an impressive portfolio of brands. This year marks the 20th anniversary of Bison Maldives- a prime time to reflect and reminisce at the growth and accomplishments the company has acquired in the past two decades.
In 2002, Bison Maldives took flight as a company solely based in the construction sector of the Maldives. However, diversification came quickly to the company and just within 1 year of inception it has launched Aluminium and Glass Operations into the services and Bison Trading was born. In 2009, further diversification took place with the signing of franchise agreement with Hameedia, providing a foothold for Bison Fashion in the fast-evolving age of trends. Just three years afterwards, the operations at Reveries Diving Village and Spa in Laamu Atoll commenced, a critical window for the company to diversify into travel and tourism.
The most recent additions to the Bison Maldives brand came in 2019 and 2020 when the company entered a strategic partnership with MELWA Steel to become the authorized distributor in Maldives and when Bison Food Supplies were introduced to its ever-growing list of services. Through its diverse portfolio of brands, Bison Maldives continues to add value to the lives of Maldivians and the future generations that will follow, carrying on in its goal to bring synergy between human and business.
Owing to its prominent role in a number of key industries in the Maldives, the Bison Group has been honoured by multiple accolades during the years. This includes recognitions at the Maldives Travel Awards, Maldives, Maldives Business Awards and the coveted titles at South Asian Travel Awards. The most notable distinction came in 2022, when Bison Maldives received the prestigious President’s Gold Award- a testimony to the exceptional standards, quality and commitment the group has shown in its work.
The company is now strategically positioned as a leading figure in the construction scene. With a history of consistently meeting project deadlines, offering full-scope services and implementing design and turnkey projects, Bison Maldives is revered as a preferred contractor among many of its clientele.
As a result of this, the company has been at the forefront of innovative projects, centered around unique concepts. Some of the recent constructions Bison Maldives has completed include the Floating City Mockup unit, the new HSBC Office (awarded the best designed and constructed branch in Asia Pacific 2021) and several award-winning resorts such as Bathala Resort, You & Me by Cocoon, OBLU Select Sangeli and Cocoon Maldives Resort.
It has even expanded beyond the borders of Maldives, having footprints in Africa with some of the ongoing projects focused in Bawe Island, Tanzania project.
