BML Extends International Transfer Initiative

During this time, Bank of Maldives has been supporting Maldivians living abroad by enabling International Transfers from MVR accounts and temporarily increasing Debit Card Withdrawal limits. The duration of this measure has been extended until 15th June 2020.

Customers can use MVR accounts to make international transfers of up to USD 500 per month. Although SWIFT charges by Bank of Maldives has been waived off, respective foreign bank charges will still apply. Customers using international money transfer through Mobile Pay can also send up to USD 500 monthly using their digital MVR wallets.

BML has also increased debit card withdrawal limit abroad. The limit has been increased to USD 1000 and ATM withdrawal charges reduced to MVR15 per transaction. Customers can continue to use up to USD 600 daily on POS terminals overseas.

If the beneficiary is registered with Ministry of Foreign Affairs and a transfer request has already been submitted to the Bank, the request will be processed accordingly. To contact for further updates, BML requests customers to send a message via Internet Banking.
