Building a ‘Cashless’ Society- Dhiraagu Maldives

Maldives telecommunications provider Dhiraagu partners with Commercial bank of Maldives (CBM) to enable the bank’s customers to deposit in Dhiraagu Pay wallet through the banking portal. This is the first time in Maldives a financial institution and an electronic wallet introduced such a service without an additional app or a payment gateway.

CEO and Managing Director of Dhiraagu says that the introduction of this service is expected to benefit Dhiraagu Pay’s customers and is a huge step towards creating a ‘cashless’ society in Maldives. CBM states that 230 merchants provides Dhiraagu Pay service throughout Maldives and due to this new service, their customers will be able to get a discount from 10% to 50%.
