Celebrate Maldives Independence Day with JA Manafaru's Cultural Week

This exciting week coincides with Maldives’ Independence Day and offers a unique opportunity to experience the island nation’s vibrant traditions and customs.
The festivities begin on July 22nd with a captivating tour of the resort’s cultural exhibit, Magey Hiyaa. Guests will get an intimate look at Maldivian history and heritage, setting the stage for the week’s events.
On July 23rd, the celebration continues with an unforgettable Maldivian night. Guests will savor a traditional feast served “Malaafaiy” style at Kakuni restaurant, followed by a mesmerizing Boduberu performance that brings the island’s rhythmic beats to life.
July 25th features a captivating Maldivian Cooking Class led by the talented Executive Chef, Chef Moosa Nazeeh, at Kakuni. Guests can learn the secrets behind some of the country’s most beloved dishes, adding a personal touch to their cultural journey.
The week culminates on July 26th, Maldives Independence Day, with a traditional flag-raising ceremony on the beach. Guests can join in the national pride as the Maldivian National Anthem fills the air, celebrating the spirit of the nation.
The celebrations conclude with a delightful Maldivian-themed afternoon tea featuring local delicacies served at the Veli Bar. As guests savor the flavors, they are enthralled by the rhythmic beats of another Boduberu performance, bringing the week to a festive close.
