Celebrate the Magic of Water at The Ritz-Carlton Maldives This Festive Season

The Ritz-Carlton Maldives, Fari Islands, a stunning architectural gem poised above the crystal-clear waters of the Indian Ocean, is set to unveil its festive programming for the upcoming holiday season. This year’s theme, ‘Eau,’ pays tribute to the resort’s oceanic surroundings and the magical essence of water. Guests can look forward to a series of curated experiences designed to engage the senses, from gourmet trails to transformative spa journeys.
Festivities kick off on December 22 with a sparkling evening at the resort’s EAU Bar, transforming the iconic spherical pool into a captivating stage for a “liquid theatre” experience. Guests will raise signature Sangu cocktails as the Christmas tree lights up, marking the start of a dazzling celebration that continues through January 9, 2025.
Each evening will feature captivating performances inspired by water, with shows of music, dance, and theatre celebrating themes of reflection and renewal. Guests can enjoy candlelit concerts under the stars and the New Year’s Eve Gala Dinner, which promises a spectacular culmination of culinary excellence.
The culinary offerings during the festive season will showcase the resort's exceptional dining venues. On December 23, the omakase venue IWAU will host a special wagyu and sake feast, highlighting the resort's renowned Asian flavors. Christmas Eve will feature a cocktail reception leading into an extravagant dinner at EAU Bar, while Christmas Day will see the celebrated Summer Pavilion serving a Cantonese wok lunch. Guests can also savor a beachside barbecue at Beach Shack on New Year’s Day.
Throughout the holidays, a decadent array of dining experiences awaits, including exclusive Veuve Clicquot and Taittinger dinners, izakaya menus paired with sake, and even Champagne raw bars. Guests can participate in festive masterclasses, including the chance to create and decorate their own gingerbread houses.
For those eager to learn and explore, the festive programming offers a variety of activities. Jean-Michel Cousteau’s Ambassadors of the Environment program will guide marine explorations, including turtle snorkeling and “Cities under the Sea” experiences. Above the water, guests can take a luxury sunset cruise or enjoy traditional fishing on a Maldivian Dhoni boat. On land, sunset painting sessions and water-side acro-yoga will provide memorable experiences.
The Ritz-Carlton’s spa, perched over a serene lagoon, will focus on wellness with a range of holistic treatments and workshops, including gua sha self-massage and sound healing. Guests can set intentions for the new year with floating meditation and participate in sunrise yoga beneath the resort’s majestic banyan tree.
Junior guests will be delighted by festive activities, including a special visit from Santa Claus on Christmas Day. The Ritz Kids program offers water-inspired fun, from bubble parties to over-water piñata games. Children will also join marine scientists in exploring the ocean’s micro world. A fashion show for kids and sports activities like beach paddle ball and surf clinics will keep teens engaged and active.
On January 4, guests can enjoy a short boat ride to Fari Marina Village for the Fari Marina Night Market, featuring gourmet delights from The Ritz-Carlton and neighboring Patina resort, all illuminated by artist James Turrell’s Amarta installation.
