COMO Hotels and Resorts has appointed Peter Nilsson as the new Managing Director for the Maldives, where he will oversee operations at COMO Cocoa Island and COMO Maalifushi. With more than 30 years of experience in luxury hospitality, Nilsson is well-equipped to enhance guest experiences and ensure operational efficiency at both properties.
Nilsson, a Swedish hotelier, has a long history in the hospitality industry, having worked with renowned brands such as Ritz-Carlton, Soneva, Six Senses, Conrad, and Anantara. Prior to joining COMO, he served as CEO at Banwa Private Island in the Philippines, further solidifying his expertise in managing exclusive properties.
COMO Cocoa Island, located in South Malé Atoll, offers an intimate retreat with 33 overwater villas, while COMO Maalifushi, in Thaa Atoll, features 59 overwater and beach accommodations. Both resorts are known for their immersive experiences, including COMO Shambhala's holistic wellness offerings.
In his new role, Nilsson is focused on driving operational excellence, strategic growth, and team engagement, while continuing to deliver exceptional experiences for guests at both resorts. His leadership is expected to strengthen the operational cohesion across COMO's Maldives properties.
