During early hours of 1st May, an additional 72 cases of Bangladeshis have been confirmed by Health Protection Agency. These samples were taken from individuals in isolation at a vulnerable house placed under police surveillance. Total number of cases in the country reaches 468. The Maldives has reported one death and 451 active cases out of which 4 are hospitalized.

According to Ministry of Health’s update on 01 May 2020 - 01:41, there are 1,195 people in quarantine, 320 in isolation, 8,008 samples taken, out of which 396 were positive and 697 samples are pending. Health Protection Agency has also released a list of places under monitoring as of 01 May, 02:00hrs on twitter.

HPA’s update of 30th April at 21 30 revealed that there had been 119 cases during the last 24 hours. Out of 396 cases then, 143 were locals and 253 were foreigners. Number of people who recovered still remains at 17, resulting the recovery rate to fall to 3.63%.
