COVID19- Maldivian Charters Special Cargo Flights

Maldivian, the national airline of the Maldives, has announced that a special charter service will be launched to fly cargo freighters amidst global pandemic.

In addition to scheduled commercial flights Maldivian also operate charter flights, special medical evacuation flights and freighter flights on a request basis. The airline’s scheduled flights are also able to cater to some of the medical evacuation cases.

These cargo flights, launched especially due to the pandemic, will be chartered to the following destinations; Trivandrum and Chennai of India, Thailand and Dubai. Additional destinations will be included to the current line-up based on the demand. Managing Director of Maldivian Mohamed Rizvee said that the cargo flights and staff are all prepared to provide any assistance that the government may require during this slope in the Maldives’ economy.

Previously, the airline had announced changes to the call center and Viber platform services’ opening hours commencing from 19th March onward. Call center and Viber Services will be available through Sunday-Thursday from 1000hrs to 1500hrs. These services will be closed on Saturdays and Fridays while Maldivian ticket office is also currently closed until further notice.
