
On 9th May, COVID-19 Case Updates by Health protection agency as of 02:00pm, confirmed an additional 22 cases of COVID-19 infection in Maldives. Cases: 4 Bangladeshi, 16 Maldivians, 1 India and 1 Nepali. This totals the number of confirmed cases to 766. The country has reported 3 deaths.

As of 02:00pm, confirmed an additional 22 cases of COVID-19 infection in Maldives.

Total number of cases: 766
According to latest updates by Health Ministry, there were total 416 Bangladeshis (55.91%), 238 Maldivians (31.99%) and 60 Indians (8.06%). Further demographics show that out of the infected, 99 were females (13.31%) and 645 were males (86.69%). Majority of the patients were aged between 21 to 40 years and least were 71-100 years.
COVID-19 surveillance updates as of 21:30, 08 May reveal that there were 733 cases, out of which 229 were locals and 504 were foreigners. 20 patients have recovered, making the recovery rate 2.69% and total active cases 710. Over 1600 people are in quarantine and more than 550 people in isolation. HPA also published an updated list of places under monitoring on twitter.
