The elite Crown & Champa Resorts collection has announced three noteworthy appointments, bringing three industry experts into instrumental roles in the brand’s properties. Ali Navaz steps in as General Manager of the adults-only Komandoo Island Resort & Spa, whereas Bahauddeen takes on the position of Resort Manager at Hurawalhi Island Resort. Joining the brand is also Jorge Amaro who would be overseeing the operations at Innahura Maldives Resort as General Manager of the property. All aforementioned iconic sister properties are located in the dive-famed Lhaviyani atoll.
Ali Navaz has been an influential figure in the Crown & Champa Resorts collection for 5 years and has a stellar career in the hospitality industry spanning over two decades. He initially joined Hurawalhi Island Resort during its opening in 2017 where he served as the Front of House Manager. While working in this role, his dedication and exceptional service to the Hurawalhi team were acknowledged, which landed him the promotion to Resort Manager in March 2021.
Under his leadership, he led the team in a progressive direction, aided by his excellent operational skills and outstanding guest service. He now takes the reins as General Manager of the Komandoo Island Resort & Spa, ranked 7th in TripAdvisor’s Top Romantic Hotels in Asia 2022.
Bahauddeen – Resort Manager of Hurawalhi Island Resort
Bahauddeen, better known as Bahau had his brush with the resort collection back in October 2018, when he joined the pre-opening team of Kudadoo Maldives Private Island as Resort Manager. His hand in elevating the Kudadoo Private Island was highly valued, upholding its status as a world-class property where fully inclusive experiences and freedom are redefined. Hailing from the sunny isles, Bahau will be bringing 22 years of insightful experience in the tourism industry to Hurawalhi Island Resort, where the exclusive 5.8 Undersea Restaurant is also featured.
Jorge Amaro – General Manager of Innahura Maldives Resort
Originally from Portugal, Jorge has culminated 25 years of international hospitality experience, having worked alongside a multitude of hotel chains in France, Portugal and Seychelles. Through his diverse experience, Jorge has become an all-rounded hotelier, well-versed in resort operations in the Maldives. He now prepares to helm the all-beach bungalow property of Innahura Maldives Resort as the next challenge of his illustrious career.
