When Swedish chef Mathias Dahlgren first visited Soneva Jani, he fell completely in love with the location and wanted to use his expertise to celebrate the authentic seafood that could be obtained right from the Indian Ocean, and the fresh ingredients that can be plucked out straight from the resorts organic garden.
Hence the acclaimed Swedish chef and restaurateur was inspired to collaborate with Soneva Jani to create his very own masterpiece, “Overseas”, which as the name itself defines, is a restaurant located right overs the waters and near to the Gathering, which is the heart of the resort’s overwater villas.
Mathias has received accolades from both the food industry and international press and is renowned for his incredible culinary skills and creativity in the area of “natural cuisines”. Mathias was president of the Swedish Bocuse D’Or Academy for many years and is also the author for over seven cookbooks. He has also opened various other restaurants in Sweden, all of which have been a success.
The open-air dining restaurant and kitchen has a laid-back atmosphere with untarnished views of the horizon and serves guests with fulfilling meals for lunch and dinner.
The various dining options at this all-new luxury restaurant is particularly tailored to give an ultimate experience for pescatarians, vegetarians and vegans, who can indulge in a selection of single plates, sharing plates and signature mains for lunch and dinner.
The menu is split mostly between seafood and vegetarian dishes, while there will also be fully plant-based options. Guests will be entitled to a pre-set menu of Chef’s choices, which lets diners try a range full of dishes such as single plates, signature dishes and dessert and also gives guests the option to add items from the single dish menu to the set meal.
With a variety of plant-based snacks and signature dishes, this luxury resort brings a new twist for all the veggie and seafood lovers.
