Held from April 12 to April 14, 2024, at the Suntec Singapore Exhibition and Convention Centre, the event served as a platform to showcase the Maldives' pristine dive sites to the Southeast Asia (SEA) market.
ADEX, boasting a remarkable 26-year history, stands as Asia's largest and most enduring dive expo, drawing renowned VIPs and speakers from diverse backgrounds in marine conservation and underwater exploration. MMPRC seized the opportunity to disseminate up-to-date destination information, fostering awareness of the Maldives as a premier dive destination among visitors. Additionally, the event facilitated invaluable market insights, enabling MMPRC to tailor promotional efforts to the preferences of the Asian and Southeast Asian dive enthusiast demographic.
Participation in ADEX aligns with MMPRC's overarching objective to position the Maldives as the top choice for Southeast Asian travelers, particularly those from Singapore, and to showcase the Maldives' unparalleled diving and underwater experiences. The Visit Maldives stand offered engaging activities, including consumer surveys, informative flash cards detailing Maldivian marine life, and captivating artworks showcasing the diverse dive locations scattered across the Maldives' azure waters.
Last year, the SEA market accounted for a total of 58,947 visitors to the Maldives, underscoring its significance in the tourism landscape. From January to February this year, the Maldives welcomed 7,481 tourists from the SEA market. MMPRC remains committed to expanding this market segment further through a series of targeted initiatives, including joint-marketing campaigns, outdoor advertising, participation in fairs, webinars, e-learning programs, and various other events, ensuring continued growth and sustained presence in the region.
