Dusit Thani Maldives is located on Mudhdhoo Island in Baa Atoll, the Maldives' first UNESCO World Biosphere Reserve, and is only 35 minutes by seaplane from Malé, or a 25-minute domestic flight and 10 minutes by speedboat from Dharavandhoo Airport. This gorgeous hub is perfect for guests seeking island adventure, fine dining, and relaxation. The house reef is teeming with marine life, and Devarana Spa's elevated treatment rooms among the coconut trees ensure that every whim is catered to.
Quite recently, this blissful sanctuary made headlines for carrying out an adventurous day with local children from nearby islands as part of celebrating children’s day 2022. Even though the day is officially celebrated in Maldives on May 10th, the resort’s crew took it into their hands to give the children further celebrations. Students from Kihaadhoo, Dhonfanu and Dharavandhoo island made their way to experience a fun-filled day at the resort it-self on May 28th, 2022.
The day began with the gathering of parents, students and teachers at the ‘Baan Sanook’ - the resort's dedicated children's club which means "home of fun" in Thai. A friendly introduction, a special welcome speech and fun team activities, carried through with participants donning bright T-shirts that were specially designed and gifted to them for the occasion by the crew of Dusit.
Moreover, the guests learned about how the resort operates, met members of staff, and explored the Team Village, laundry facilities, and various types of guest villas on the island on a back-of-house tour led by the engineering department. The incredible crew made sure that the kiddos were kept energized throughout the day by delicious resort refreshments, including a filling lunch of burgers and fries at The Market restaurant. At Thai restaurant Benjarong, where they gathered for a final photo at the end of the day, they were treated to a sweet treat of ice cream as well.
“We had such a wonderful time with the students,” expressing his enthusiasm over the fun adventure is the General Manager of Dusit Thani Maldives, Thomas Weber. “We invite and connect with our young local communities as part of our CSR activities. For the children, it is a great opportunity to experience a resort, where perhaps relatives or their mother or father is working. For us, we are delighted to spend a day with the young generation of Maldivians and have a good time together. Perhaps we can inspire them to embrace a future career in hospitality. We trust they enjoyed it as much as we did.”
