As per statements from both Ministry of Fisheries and Customs Services, the law is set out to ensure quays and harbors tighten up security protocols, including stronger monitoring on individuals or groups reportedly breaching regulations.
The new rules suggest that reefer and foreign originated vessels will be inspected and provided clearance based on prerequisites set out by the relevant authorities in order to guarantee no illegal conduct in fishing within the Maldivian border.
