Ever Been on a Foraging Lunch? Amilla is Asking You Out on a Date!

Sunday 11th of July 2021

Amilla Maldives Resort & Residences’ Zero-air miles project took another bold step this month by launching “Foraging Lunch” activity. This new eco-adventure led by Staff, Chef, Landscaping Supervisor and the Sustainability and Wellness Mentor, Victoria Kruse, takes guests through the lush island to gather edible plants highlighting the islands indigenous and ingrown herbs, vegetables and fruits.

Amongst the first guests to experience the new activity were ‘Visiting Hero’, newly married Pro Tennis Player, Phillip Davydenko and his wife. Phillip, who has also offered tennis clinics and coaching to resort guests, said that they loved the delicious self-cooked lunch and the “Foraging Lunch” adventure had given them an informative and exciting learning experience about the resort's sustainability, the gardens and homegrown spices of Amilla.

The new activity is part of the resorts efforts to use sustainable food sources on the island. The “Homegrown@Amilla” Project means fewer items need to be imported, reducing the resorts carbon footprint. From the chicken coop, Cluckinghum Palace, to the Mystique Gardens on the island are all part of the natural jungle that covers over 70% of the island.

Take your next date ‘Foraging’ and learn a new lifestyle at Amilla this season!
