This summer, Nova Maldives is excited to partner with PADI, the world’s leading scuba diving organization, for a special Ocean Adventure Week from July 13 to 20, 2025. The event is in celebration of PADI’s 11th Women’s Dive Day on July 19. Hosted at Nova’s stunning South Ari Atoll location, this immersive experience will invite guests to explore the transformative power of the ocean through diving, conservation, and community connection.
PADI AmbassaDiver India Black, an advocate for conservation and ocean protection, along with PADI Regional Manager Matt Wenger, will co-host the event. Together, they bring their expertise in both diving and marine conservation to lead a series of educational workshops, dives, and sustainability-focused activities throughout the week.
Participants will have the opportunity to dive in the protected waters of the South Ari Marine Protected Area (SAMPA), famous for its diverse marine life, including manta rays and whale sharks. Guests can take part in Manta Quest Snorkelling, Whale Shark Snorkelling, Turtle Quest, and even an Ocean Clean-Up Dive to help remove marine debris from the reefs.
Additional events include Blue Planet Movie Nights, where guests can unwind while watching the BBC series, and Marine Conservation Talks & Workshops that cover whale shark research, coral conservation, and PADI AWARE’s sustainability initiatives. A special celebration for Women’s Dive Day will also be held to encourage more women to get involved in diving and ocean conservation.
As part of the event, Nova Maldives is proud to support marine conservation efforts, partnering with organizations such as the Maldives Whale Shark Research Programme (MWSRP) and Manta Trust, both of which work to protect the region’s iconic marine species.
The week-long program will also highlight Nova’s commitment to sustainable tourism, community engagement, and ocean stewardship, values that are central to the resort’s mission.
This event provides an opportunity for ocean lovers to dive deeper into the importance of protecting the oceans while enjoying the unparalleled beauty of the Maldives. Guests will leave with a renewed appreciation for marine conservation and a greater understanding of how to contribute to the protection of the ocean’s delicate ecosystems.
