With an impressive 21-year track record in luxury hospitality, Steven is poised to lead the resort's operations, performance, and strategic direction into an exciting future.
Having embarked on a diverse hotel career spanning five countries including Canada, Bermuda, the United Arab Emirates, and the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, Steven brings a wealth of experience to Fairmont Maldives, Sirru Fen Fushi. Notably, his 18-year tenure with Fairmont Hotels & Resorts, encompassing renowned properties such as Fairmont Waterfront, Fairmont Banff Springs, Fairmont Southampton, Fairmont Dubai, and Fairmont The Palm, positions him as an expert in the luxury hospitality realm. With a background in Hospitality Management from the esteemed Cornell University in New York, Steven enters his role with an innate understanding of Fairmont Maldives' core values: excellence, family-centric experiences, exceptional culinary offerings, unwavering sustainability principles, and a focus on wellness.

Steven's appointment coincides with a dynamic period for Fairmont Maldives. The Maldives Ministry of Tourism reported a remarkable 31% increase in tourist arrivals in 2023 compared to the same period in 2022*. The resort introduces a novel experience this year, inviting guests to reside in Beach Tented Villas—safari-style accommodations on the sand that offer a conscious castaway encounter unique to the island.
