Fairmont Maldives, Sirru Fen Fushi has announced the appointment of Valentina Sobeshchuk, who will be posing as the resort’s new Director of Sales & Marketing. Valentina has garnered more than 12 years of sales and marketing experience within the luxury hospitality industry, having worked with some of the most acclaimed hotels and brands worldwide. This has enabled her to establish a dynamic and results-driven hospitality foundation/core with an in-depth knowledge of luxury markets and the UHNW clientele.
In her new role, Valentina will be responsible for driving the resort’s global sales and marketing efforts, forging relationships with both new and existing luxury tour operators and creating and implementing a strategic sales plan. Additionally, she is also tasked with guiding the Sales and Marketing team and identifying new business opportunities for the property. Prior to joining the team at Fairmont Maldives, Sirru Fen Fushi, Valentina’s most recent posting has been as Director of Sales & Marketing at W Dubai – The Palm.
Throughout her career, Valentina has fulfilled various, prominent management and director appointments alongside well-established hotel brands. This includes leading the sales team at Rixos Hotels UAE and Mövenpick, through which she gained valuable experience in the global hospitality sphere. With an aim to always strive for excellence, Valentina is looking forward to expanding her skills portfolio and will graduate in the coming April with an MBA in Finance from Middlesex University Dubai.
Sobeshchuk was selected as Salesperson of the Year at the Hotelier Middle East Awards in 2020, owing to her success in the re-opening of Rixos Bab Al Bahr during the pandemic. The property was completely sold out one week before the opening because of the campaigns devised by Valentina and her team. This consequently led to a huge spike in revenue and a whopping 200% increase in sales was recorded in the local market.
Over the next 12 months, Valentina was able to continue her winning streak, raising the total revenue of the properties under her belt from US$ 16 million to $30 million. While based in Dubai, she aspires to generate a similar level of success at Fairmont Maldives, Sirru Fen Fushi. She joins the team at a crucial time for the destination when the Maldives is experiencing a positive influx in tourist arrival numbers, with a 31% increase in rates compared to the same period last year.
Speaking on her appointment, Valentina Sobeshchuk remarked: “I’m delighted to be joining the exceptionally talented team at Fairmont Maldives, Sirru Fen Fushi, and it couldn’t be at a better time as the resort starts to prepare for an exciting festive period. I look forward to bringing my experience, determination, and passion to the resort, and leading the sales and marketing team towards a truly fruitful future.”
As a new offering for 2023, Fairmont Maldives, Sirru Fen Fushi unveiled the Beach Tented Villas - a conscious castaway experience on the island accompanied by workshops at the Sustainability Lab. Guests can also choose their pick from the resort’s 120 villas, each home to a private pool, and lead world-class dining adventures across the four restaurants & bars located on the property. In addition to this, the resort even boasts an interactive Kids Club, Art Studio, Tennis Courts, and a Fairmont spa & fitness centre among others as well.
