Fari Islands, The Ritz-Carlton Maldives has appointed Rasika Ruhunuarachchi as the Director of Engineering and Nishantha Parana as Executive Chef. Both had started their new roles with The Ritz-Carlton Maldives on 01st April 2020.

Nishantha hails from Sri Lanka with a culinary family background. He commenced his career in culinary arts at the age of 22 in Sri Lanka with hotels like Ramada Renaissance and Hilton Colombo. He made his entry into Maldives in 1996 to join Baros Holiday Resort as an acting Executive Chef for a year. In his 30 years of experience, he also worked at Huvafen Fushi by Per AQUUM for seven years and then a year with Jumeirah Vittaveli.

Born and raised in Sri Lanka, Rasika completed his education in marine engineering and industrial engineering at CINEC Maritime Campus Colombo. After which, he worked at the Sri Lankan Navy for 10 years, and gained technical experience in terms of multitasking and working in a fast-paced environment. During over 22 years of experience in the hospitality industry, he also carried out the role of Director of Engineering at Fairmont Maldives Sirru Fen Fushi.
