Here’s to 42 Years of Kaimoo Group

Since 1979, the wholly local, family-owned establishment of Kaimoo Travels and Hotel Services has been growing alongside the Maldivian Tourism industry. Aimed at focusing on the operation and management of company owned resorts and hotels, Kaimoo today has 6 properties across the Maldives.

The first property of the group was opened over four decades ago in Addu – Embudu Village with just 30 rooms. Under careful management of late Mr Kandi Ahmed Ismail, and his wife Moomina Haleem, the company steadily expanded in time and progressively revamped the resort to offering divers a paradise as one of the longest running resorts in the destination.

Kaimoo also owns and operates South Asia’s Leading Beach Resort of 2017 by SATA, the 4* island bliss of Summer Island Resort and Equator Village ideally perched on the southern most atoll in the Maldives. Mookai Suites, Mookai Hotel and Kam Hotel are the developments under the umbrella of Kaimoo group in the capital city of Male. This pioneer group has earned recognition for their work across the industry on multiple occasions, including prestigious international awards for its resorts over the years.

Kaimoo Group’s Owner, Manih Ahmed says that although tourism has changed beyond recognition since it started nearly 50 years ago, Maldives’ transformation is underpinned by its unchanging, timeless beauty which still draws tourists to its shores. One of the main reasons why the group still succeeds in providing top-notch services in the industry is because they prioritize not only high commercial value but also the satisfaction of its clientele, the welfare of its dedicated team and the overall prosperity of its community.
