Hi, Russia! Visit Maldives Soon

The Maldives has always found Russia to be its traditionally strong market. The year 2020 started off with Russia’s market being the fourth highest arrival market of the Maldives, with an increase of arrivals by 29.6% compared to January of 2019. While Maldives opened up its borders for international arrivals on July 15th, Russian tourists have slowly been picking up, and the country is currently ranked among the top 10 countries in terms of arrivals amidst the pandemic.

Maldives Marketing and Public Relations Corporation (MMPRC) commenced its advertising on one of the top TV channels of Moscow and the Central region of Russia, that goes by the name of 360° TV Channel. Such advertising is intended to promote travel to Maldives and to make aware hopeful travellers to ‘Visit the Maldives Soon’. MMPRC expects that this important message will reach more than 3 million people through this TV channel.

The Managing Director of MMPRC, Mr. Thoyyib Mohamed, stated that major campaigns are on the list for the Russian market such as promoting Maldives on digital platforms. In addition, he emphasized that they will be working closely with top travel agents and tour operators in the upcoming months to promote Maldives and to boost arrivals from the Russian market. He also stated that there is strong expectation for this market to bounce back as compared to other markets and move towards a gradual growth.

This is just one of the several marketing initiatives planned for this significant market with the aim of increasing brand awareness and to portray Maldives as one of the ideal destinations for Russian travelers

The viewers are sure to be astounded by the beautiful scenery and activities that the sunny side of life offers and the advertisement will be backed by narration in the Russian language.
