Training, Health and Safety Manager at Sun Siyam Iru Fushi, Haanif Abdullah has filled us in on the latest happenings at the resort, and this time, he is set on perfecting the ongoing pilot edition of ‘Hin'gaalamaa’ Leadership Development Program.
Translating to ‘Let’s lead’ in the native language Dhivehi, ‘Hin'gaalamaa’ is a carefully put-together development program by Haanif that aims to empower the participants to discover their potential in becoming the leaders of tomorrow. In the fast-paced, everchanging hospitality industry, a different skillset is in demand every other day and leaders need to be promptly adaptable to change.
With 24 team members selected across various departments of the resort, the first-ever ‘Hin'gaalamaa’ kicked off last month. HODs and AHODs of the departments are eagerly actively engaging with the program. For the next six months, participants will be working in groups and taking part in engaging activities, assignments, and prepare for the final exams.
The concept of the development program is designed in a manner where modules of the course cover the key components of communication, working together, critical thinking and decision making among others. This will give members a platform to apply their knowledge and horn their skills.
Haanif’s vision while preparing this unique course was to create opportunities for leaders to take the exclusive Sun Siyam Resorts brand to new heights through their commitment for excellence. This will be further enhanced through the understanding of fundamental theories of leadership coached in the development program and exercising them at the workplace.
He says, “Development takes time and effort and we are willing to put that effort into our people. This program has been created with a vision to develop impactful leaders required to take any organization forward.”
Acknowledging the milestone achieved with this pilot project, Operations Manager at Sun Siyam Iru Fushi, Abdulla Abdul Latheef (Atham) stated, “This is a very important program for us as it is the first time, we are having such a program in the group and developing leaders is necessary for organizational success. This shows our commitment for learning and our desire to always improve.”
The graduation ceremony for the class of 2021/2022 has been planned for mid-March 2022.
