Iberia group announces its novelty offers for the Summer months as promising and steady growth has been observed in reactivating travel in the region. Committed to allow passengers more connectivity to foreign lands far and close, Iberia is determined to recover travel with destinations that allow for a post-pandemic holiday.
This July and August, Iberia plans to fly directly from Madrid to the Maldives twice a week. Adding the sunny side of life to its long list of 112 destinations a hopeful step in the encouraging direction that Maldives has taken and will open the airline to new and potential markets.
The airline has reportedly applied for permits to operate two weekly frequencies in the central summer months. This route represents a change in the strategy that Iberia has developed so far in its long-haul network, as it is directed almost exclusively to the holiday segment and will be an operation, above all, of point-to-point traffic.
Betting on strong recovery of the travel sector this summer, President and CEO of Iberia, Javier Sánchez-Prieto commented, “The entire tourism sector is hopeful that the vaccination campaigns will serve to lift the restrictions and it is essential that valid formulas are undertaken for Europe, America and any country in the world.”
