International Engineering Week at Vakkaru

Vakkaru Maldives celebrates International Engineering Week with a competitive Engineering Exhibition where visitors witnessed innovation and creativity from team members of various departments.

The winners of the exhibition are Halloluwage Sumith Krishantha, Ubhaya Wijaya Kumara Kolonthanne Archchilage and Mohamed Sharfeez, who stunned the crowd with their Vakkaru 1 helicopter. It was made using recycled materials from a wooden ceiling fan as the propellers.

In addition to the exhibition, the week included a friendly football match, facility tours and a cool-off swim session among the hardworking teams.

Founded by the National Society of Professional Engineers in 1951, EWeek (February 16–22, 2020) is dedicated to ensuring a diverse and well-educated future engineering workforce by increasing understanding of and interest in engineering and technology careers.
