During a press conference held on 25th March, the government had vowed to reduce the price of internet amidst the coronavirus pandemic. Following the statement, the country’s telecommunications companies Dhiraagu and Ooredoo have made changes to their internet services to ease access.
Dhiraagu is offering extra free data allowance to its customers for the next two months of April and May. With this new offer, 70% of Dhiraagu Home Fixed Broadband Customers will be receiving double their data allowance of their package and all Dhiraagu Mobile Customers will receive at least 50% extra data allowance for the month of April and May 2020.
The company has reached out to the community in many ways. During the month of March, Dhiraagu awarded 30% Extra Data allowance to all its Home Fixed Broadband customers across the nation and awarded 50% discount on all Home Fixed Broadband Add-ons for the month of March and April.
Dhiraagu also offered free 10GB Data Internet Booster for all Home Fixed Broadband customers and awarded 25% discount on monthly rentals on Biz Fixed Broadband and Guesthouse Internet packages for the month of March and April to assist Samll and medium enterprises.
On the other hand, Ooredoo Maldives has also introduced a special offer which provides a daily 5GB allowance for SuperNet Broadband Customers upon reaching their package inclusive data allowances.
Once the package limit is reached, customers will continue to get an additional 5GB bonus every 24 hours until the renewal of their data allowance for the next month. This is over and above the 25%, free data allowance already announced for our SuperNet customers and will be valid from 1st April 2020.
