How many people finish higher education in hospitality and instantly set a goal to join an established property? It sounds like it would be more beneficial, perhaps easier to kick start and continue your career. But Enver Arslan is here to prove that being part of openings can be better than established hotels.
The new General Manager of Joali Maldives, former Resort Director of the property, Arslan becomes part of this successful team with a degree in Hospitality Management from Hospitality Management School of Erciyes University and a raft of additional qualifications from Cornell University and Four Seasons. He has worked for several Four Seasons properties around the world. After more than a year as the Food and Beverage Manager at Four Seasons Maldives, he decided to join the opening team of Joali Maldives overlooking the operational departments for the past 4 years.
“To move forward in hospitality, it is really rewarding to do openings, rather than established hotels. You’re not dealing with guests, but with architects. You have to have a broader vision to build a new culture. Then, when you open the doors, you have to have an even bigger vision to redo things,” said Arslan.
