The iconic property, Jumeirah Maldives Olhahali Island has announced the appointment of Brian D’Souza for the position of Executive Assistant Manager – Food & Beverage. Brian D'Souza brings more than 17 years of hospitality experience to his role with a diverse background and skillset to aid him in his duties. As part of his new appointment, Brian is poised to elevate the resort’s culinary offerings and take guests’ dining experiences to new heights.
Originally from India, Brian has acquired extensive experience within the industry, having worked with world-renowned international brands and labels in Dubai such as the Sheraton-Starwood, Wyndham Group and Grand Midwest. Quite familiar with the Maldivian hospitality landscape too, Brian has served positions at several properties including Niyama Private Island and Mövenpick Resort Kuredhivaru. His most recent posting had been as the Director of Food & Beverage at Waldorf Astoria Maldives Ithaafushi where he played a pivotal role in enhancing the resort’s dining journeys.
As he steps into his new role as Executive Assistant Manager – Food & Beverage, Brian will be responsible for spearheading and overseeing the operations of the Food & Beverage team at Jumeirah Maldives Olhahali Island’s various dining establishments. Under Brian’s leadership these exquisite restaurants will craft unforgettable gastronomical experiences, consolidating the resort’s reputation and positioning as one of the best gastronomic destinations in the Maldives.
The property takes pride in bringing three innovative dining spaces: Shimmers, Kayto and Glow. Shimmers tailors to Greek and Mediterranean dishes and is set in the sunny ambience of the beach club. At Kayto, guests can savour flavourful fusion food with crosses between Peruvian and Japanese cuisines while effortlessly lounging in a cool atmosphere. Coming to complete the trio is Glow, an all-day dining destination where international cuisine takes the limelight, skillfully put together by expert chefs.
