Juventus Football Club marked its 127th anniversary with a special visit to the Maldives on April 10, launching its global ‘Extreme Fields’ campaign. The event brought football to a tropical setting, combining sport with the island’s natural beauty.
Former Juventus star and Dutch international Edgar Davids led the visit, joined by Juventus fans from several countries. The team travelled to ADh. Mahibadhoo, where they played at the island’s Pele Stadium, surrounded by sea and sand.
The ‘Extreme Fields’ campaign celebrates Juventus’ legacy with matches in striking, non-traditional locations. Following the Maldives, upcoming games are planned in New York and Denmark.
Juventus shared the experience widely on its social media platforms, including TikTok, where clips showed players in action at Pele Stadium with stunning ocean views in the background. The content also highlighted how football is enjoyed locally in the Maldives.
Freestyler Ben Black, who took part in the event, praised the unique setting, calling it one of the most distinctive places he’s ever played.
The club also acknowledged the warm welcome from the Mahibadhoo community, noting the Maldives as the first stop of the campaign and thanking locals for their hospitality.
In late 2023, Juventus and Maldivian officials discussed future collaborations to promote tourism and sports travel—highlighting the potential of events like this to bridge cultures and attract global attention.
