The award-winning hotelier chain, Kaimoo Resorts & Hotels wins big at the SATA Awards 2022, taking home three honourable titles in this year’s edition held in the Maldives. The Kaimoo properties, Summer Island Maldives and Equator Village both received distinguished mentions in multiple categories of SATA 2022.
This includes Summer Island Maldives winning silver in the Most Romantic Resort category whilst Equator Village Maldives took a proud Gold in Best Airport Hotel. The latter also won silver in the Leading Heritage Resort category as well, making a total of three for Kaimoo!
Founded in 2016, the SATA Awards are the most prestigious and coveted tourism and hospitality recognition award given in the South Asian region. This year marks the 6th edition of the esteemed awards with 1000 nominees from 52 different categories making the cut. Endorsed by many countries in the area, SATA sets the benchmark for excellence and distinction in the blossoming tourism industry of South Asia.
An international judging panel oversaw this year’s nominations by paying a visit to the different cities to assess the properties and the services they offered. Forming part of the committee include former Minister of Tourism and Civil Aviation, Dr. Mohamed Shaugee and Founder and President of Chef Guilds of Maldives, Ms. Mariyam Noordeen.
