Kandima Maldives Enhances Safety Standards to Welcome Guests on September

The Kandima Maldives, a game-changing destination in the island nation, offering a stylish island setting with extraordinary restaurants and bars and plenty of on-site activities to choose from, has leveled-up their health & safety measures as the resort prepares to welcome back guests on 1st of September.

To ensure that all guests have an enjoyable, safe and healthy stay, Kandima has enhanced their Health & Safety standards in line with the latest medical advice from the World Health Organization (WHO) and mandates from the Maldives Health Protection Authority (HPA). The program named K’ OnGuard provides an additional layer of safeguards to give you complete peace of mind during your stay with the resort.

The program is run by Kandima’s internationally trained Health & Safety Manager, who together with the inspection team, will ensure that every procedure is in place to protect both guests and staff. The additional procedures encompass the safety and wellbeing requirements across all points of contact, including transfers, public areas, restaurants and kitchens, bars, guest rooms, activities, the spa and fitness centers, and all back of house operations.

After your scenic seaplane ride to the island resort in Dhaalu Atoll, your temperatures will be taken as well as after your arrival at regular intervals during your stay. You will have access to hand sanitizers in all public areas and will be able to choose a contactless check-in using the Kandima app and contact staff at any time through its “Live Chat” feature.

All guest rooms will undergo enhanced cleaning protocols with hospital grade disinfectants, UV-C and aerosol sprays. This will include a deep cleaning and sterilization of the frequently touched items in the room, including all surfaces, light switches, door handles, TV remotes and thermostats. The air-conditioning system and carpeting will be sanitized before each new arrival and all room keys will be individually sanitized before being handed to guests. Rooms will be sealed after cleaning for 24 hours prior to the next guest’s arrival.

Further, apart from cleaning and social distancing measures, in order to make sure that guests are protected against all eventualities in these ever-changing times, Kandima requires guests to purchase an International Travel Insurance cover before they travel to Kandima. A copy of the travel insurance document must be sent to Kandima at least 48 hours prior to the guest’s arrival.
