Kurumba Maldives Announces Key Promotions

The first-ever resort in the Maldives, Kurumba Maldives is delighted to announce key promotions at the property with the appointment of Ali Farooq as Resort Manager and Isham Ismail as Director of Human Resources.

Ali Farooq – Resort Manager

Ali began his career in Kurumba Maldives as a young intern more than two decades ago in 2001. From his early days onwards working in Food & Beverage, he has demonstrated utmost loyalty, diligent hard work and was solely committed to his role. Given his passionate enthusiasm, Ali was able to make his way up the ladder swiftly and has filled in numerous positions when forging his path at the property.

As a result of this, he gained invaluable knowledge and experience in all facets of operations and built strong relationships with guests (both external and internal), business partners and other team members. As he steps into his new role as Resort Manager, Kurumba Maldives remains positive that he will continue to be an important contributor to the resort’s success story.

Isham Ismail – Director of Human Resources

Isham initially joined Kurumba Maldives back in 2019 as the resort’s Human Resources Manager. Under his leadership, Kurumba underwent a transformative change in its overall Human Resources (HR) approach with many notable advancements seen in different areas of operations. This included strengthened morals, improved facilities & activities, and revamped recreation programmes.

As Isham takes on his new role as Director of Human Resources, he is determined to uphold Kurumba Maldives’ HR leadership goal. The HR leadership goal aspires to continue providing an environment where both present and future team members can thrive and develop themselves and hone the skills necessary to become the future leaders of the ever-expanding Maldivian hospitality industry.
