
Without a doubt, Maldives has achieved several economic developments from infrastructure to technology. Unfortunately, economic development carries its own drawbacks including high level of inequality. The gap between high and low income earners tend to widen. Will this be the case in the developing Maldives as well?
This Monday, Global Human Development Report “Human Development Report 2019 will be released by UNDP in partnership with Ministry of National Planning and Infrastructure and the Maldives National University. After the national launch, there will be a panel discussion on the broader themes of inequality addressed in the report and how it relates to the Maldives context.
