Today, Maldives Airports Company Limited (MACL) commenced the Staff Health Screening Program for the year 2022 at Velana International Airport (VIA).
The program was inaugurated by Deputy Managing Director, Mr. Ibrahim Thoha during this morning at a special ceremony held at the Airport Recreation Center (ARC). While speaking at the ceremony, Mr. Thoha highlighted on the importance of health screening and encouraged all staff to make a habit of it. He further advocated on living a healthy life by managing both physical and mental wellbeing.
The screening program is conducted by MACL’s safety and security department with the aim of empowering the staff to follow a healthy lifestyle. In addition to this, the program also helps to promote and create awareness on health, ensuring all staff and passengers remain free of illness and injury.
The screening consists of doctor consultation, genetic counselling, check-ups on blood glucose levels and eye and ear examinations. Moreover, staff is also screened for thalassemia and medial investigations are conducted on blood pressure, BMI, and body fat measurements. A cardio and muscular assessment will also form part of the screening program.
The program is conducted with collaborations from Maldives Blood Services and Dhamana Veshi. From 11-13th September the program will assess the health of staff and senior management members too. Today, Managing Director, Mr. Mahjoob carried out his health screening.
