Maldives Officially a Year-Round Destination!

Though May falls in the lead for off-peak season to the Maldives, this month has seen a new record of tourist arrivals. It has by far exceeded that of May in 2019 (103,022), and is expected to go beyond 125,000 as predicted by the Ministry of Tourism.

With the numbers in place, it can be officially deemed that there is something for everyone in the Maldives all year-round! Markets such as India and the U.K, with prominent markets in Europe and upcoming ones from the Middle-East contributing to growing number of arrivals, we are gearing for busy months ahead.

Close to 55k tourist beds are in operation across a variety of facilities throughout the destination. More than 25 international airlines are making their way to the sunny side on a regular basis.

Maldives made its mark as a ‘safe haven’ for tourists post the pandemic with stringent measures in place to take care of every minute detail when borders reopened to the destination. Since then, it has been a positive build-up of tourist arrivals from around the world, closing in on pre-pandemic numbers and enthusiastically reaching new records.
