
On 2nd February, Environment Minister Dr. Hussain Rasheed Hassan launched The National Strategic Framework to mobilise international climate finance in the Maldives within the next five years.
Speaking at the ceremony at Hotel Jen, Minister Hussain said the strategic framework was established to seek assistance to address challenges faced by the country due to climate change and other environmental issues.

The Minister states that the current administration is working hard to minimize the impact of climate change and acknowledged that President Ibrahim Mohamed Solih pays special attention to tackle environmental challenges.
Under the five-year framework, the Maldives will submit 31 projects at the Green Climate Fund. The projects will require a funding of MVR 438 million
