Maldives Showcases Its Beauty at Berlinale 2025

The Maldives Marketing and Public Relations Corporation (MMPRC/Visit Maldives) has successfully launched a striking advertising campaign at the 75th Berlin International Film Festival, which concluded on February 23rd, 2025. The initiative aimed to reinforce the Maldives’ position as the world’s leading luxury and leisure destination, reaching a global audience of industry professionals and travel enthusiasts.

The Berlinale, one of the world’s most prestigious film festivals, attracts over 1.6 million attendees, including filmmakers, celebrities, and cinema lovers. This prominent event provided the ideal backdrop for showcasing the Maldives' breathtaking landscapes, with two large digital billboards prominently displaying 30-second video advertisements throughout the festival.

The campaign, executed in collaboration with several industry partners, including SO/ Maldives, Resort Life Travel, Canareef Resort Maldives, Arena Hotels, Brennia Kottefaru, and Summer Island Maldives, emphasized the Maldives' diverse and luxurious offerings. By partnering with leading brands in the travel sector, Visit Maldives effectively reached a high-profile and affluent audience, reinforcing the destination’s allure.

The 75th Berlinale marked the inaugural year of artistic director Tricia Tuttle and featured a star-studded lineup with Hollywood stars like Timothée Chalamet, Robert Pattinson, and Jessica Chastain. The Maldives’ striking visuals and message resonated with attendees, further elevating the destination’s appeal to a global audience.
