Maldives to Make Over 50 Million Impressions in the Middle Eastern Market

Saturday 29th of May 2021

The Maldives has been diversifying its tourism products over the years to cater to growing demands of travelers from around the world. Beyond its endless seas and its treasures, and past the pristine shores leading up to island gardens, the Maldives is craved for its unmatched hospitality that makes it an elite destination on the global travel map.

In the past year, the Middle Eastern Market contributed to 26.288 tourist arrivals from the region. Even though this was 1/3rd of the arrivals in the year before, given the pandemic and consequent travel restrictions, Middle East remains a consistent and promising market. Visit Maldives has kicked off prominent marketing campaigns in the region, in aims of inspiring more travelers to seek holiday refuge in the safe sanctuary.

In collaboration with the largest online travel marketplace in the Middle East and North Africa region, Wego, Visit Maldives has commenced an online marketing campaign focusing on promoting the Maldives as an idyllic post-pandemic travel destination. Material such as B2C emails, articles, push notifications and several social media posts will be used in the campaign on Wego’s website and mobile application. The search engine will further optimize search results to pump up direct engagement with Maldives related content. The potential impressions of the advertisements are forecasted to exceed 1.5 million across Wego’s platforms from March 10 to June 19, 2021.

Visit Maldives is also collaborating with Sky News Arabia on an exclusive Arabic-language informative segment as part of the marketing campaigns. The leading pan-Arab news organization broadcasts 24/7 on the free-to-air TV channel, audio platforms and social and digital channels. Content spanning from breaking news, business, lifestyle, to arts and culture, the channel reaches an audience of over 570 million in the Arab-speaking world. The growing digital audience on social media of Sky News Arabia exceeds 48 million people already. The digital banner advertisements featuring Maldives on the channel’s website and other content are estimated to make 100,000+ impressions.

Since 1977, Al Rais Travel and Shipping is one of the most prominent travel agencies in the UAE. Visit Maldives’ recent collaboration with the top destination seller includes online promotions, competition campaigns, holiday packages and other additional contributions on its social media platforms. The content is planned to make its collective 50k audinece aware of the Maldives and its various products available for travelers. The campaign ensures a strong conversation rate to generate interest and bookings for the destination.
