Launched in 2017, Unveiling Visions is the Maldives Contemporary Art Exhibition held annually by Maldivian Artist Community (MAC). Even in this year, this colorful event that displays talent in various forms is being brought to the public by the dedicated art NGO.
Unveiling Visions 2020 has been opened up for the public. Even this year, the Community will be selecting the best 50 artists. Those aged above 16 and are interested in being part of the exhibition are to fill a form available on MAC’s social media, which requires the artist’s personal information (name, age, email & address), the social media where the artworks are displayed and the category of art.
In 2019, with 55 visual artists taking part in the exhibition, Unveiling Visions 2019 was the biggest art exhibition to happen in the country. It was officially opened by the Minister of Education, Dr. Aishath Ali and attended by Minster of Arts, Culture and Heritage Ms. Yumna Maumoon and the Minister of Youth, Sports and Community Empowerment Mr. Ahmed Mahloof.
On 4th June, Minister Yumna Maumoon conducted a meeting with the Maldivian Artist Community to discuss the challenges faced by the Maldives Arts sector due to the COVID19 pandemic and ways to overcome these challenges.
