CO-EXIST Projects helps raise awareness of the impacts of pollution and overfishing on the marine environment. Their core mission is to promote living in harmony with our oceans.
In order to make sure Manta Trust’s oceanic manta research project in Fuvahmulah Island in the Maldives goes smoothly and without a hitch, CO-EXIST Projects has recently made a donation to the organization. This donation will be used to cover the costs of hiring a research boat.
Manta Trust, with the help of local divers on the island, has identified nearly 700 oceanic manta rays around Fuvahmulah. For an endangered species with a conservative life history, this is a very significant population.
Therefore, the Manta Trust team will now be able to continue to survey oceanic manta rays around Fuvahmulah during the 2022 season.
Manta Trust is an organization that continues to coordinate global efforts to research and conserve manta rays and their relatives as well as their habitats.
