Manual Brings A Lifetime of Passion for Innovative Gastronomy to Raffles Maldives Meradhoo

Since he was a child way back when, Manual Llamas Velasco discovered an ever-growing interest in gastronomical innovations. Hailing from the hilly Rascafria near Madrid in Spain, Manual spent a great deal of time in his family restaurant.

Bringing the expertise, he has gained over the many years of food, travel and wine, thanks to a diverse family background, Manual has been proudly appointed as the new acting Director of Food and Beverage at Raffles Maldives Meradhoo.

When asked about his venture into the hospitality sector, he smiled and said that, though he started a bachelors in business he later dropped out and ended up in hotel school, since he spent most of his time in the campus cafeteria and its operations. From there, his career took off globally, spinning across 8 countries before he landed on the shores of Maldives.

Working in his new role to curate bespoke culinary experiences to guests, Manual believes that it takes strong team work to put forward impeccable guest service. He enjoys learning from his staff as much as sharing his expertise.

Manual will be leading the three main restaurants, Thari, Yuzu and the Fire Pit and the two signature bars, the famed Long Bar and the Yapa Bar here at Raffles Maldives Meradhoo.
